For a general cutter this unit is fine for the price. However, if you need precise cuts this is not the one. Well made and is cutting card stock well. 20lb paper must be held tight to get a straight cut. All in all an OK unit.

It has a sturdy wood base with a paper holding feature that I like. The handle is a little flimsy compared to my 25 year old one it is replacing.

I am trying to find a decent paper cutter and I wanted this to be the one so badly. Sadly, nope. I make homemade cards and all I need is to cut a single piece of paper straight and cleanly using a guide so each cut is either a perfect parallel or perfect right angle. But the guide bar here is cheap and wiggles around so I can’t rely on it at all. And then I initially liked the feeling of the guillotine blade but upon examination, it is not actually cutting flush with the edge all the way down the blade. Every piece gets off slightly by the end of the slice. Aside from that, I like the safety lock and the cutting mechanism is clever. It just needs to be improved. Also I think they should just put a grid all over the surface so that you can line it up better.

Exactly what I wanted – perfect for small and large cutting jobs. It’s size makes it convenient to store and retrieve quickly.

The construction is solid, and I liked the design, but it just did not cut well, especially close to the hinge. It had trouble with few multiple pages, but did ok with single heavier stock. I sent mine back for an exchange for a different brand that performed better.
